Philip Halperin

Act (Parcel Tax) campaigns. At the state level, Phil serves on California’s P-16 Council, a statewide assembly of education, business, and community leaders charged with developing strategies to better coordinate, integrate, and improve education for preschool through college students. Phil also co-founded the Information Alliance for Education.

Phil earned his A.B. in Political Science from Stanford University and his MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business. He currently serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and as a member of the National Advisory Board of the Haas Center for Public Service, both at Stanford. He is involved with the K-12 Initiative, International Initiative, and the Steering Committee for The Stanford Challenge $4.3 billion capital campaign.

Before devoting his time and energy to the public sector in 2004, Phil enjoyed a two-decade career in finance. Phil was General Partner at Weston Presidio, a private equity investment firm, where he focused on information technology, consumer branding, telecommunications, and media. Prior to Weston Presidio, Phil worked at Lehman Brothers and Montgomery Securities.

Phil serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco and San Francisco University High School. A devoted sports fan, Phil is a Principal Partner in the San Francisco Giants.
